Film Description:
"It's 1965, and Sandy Wilcox, last seen in My American Cousin, is now a seventeen-year-old with backcombed hair and a head full of dreams. She kisses her hometown goodbye and goes off to Simon Fraser University where she befriends Julie LaBelle who shares her desire for adventure. An inivitation to Sandy's cousin Butch's wedding in Portland, Oregon, starts the girls off. They meet up with hometown girlfriends Thelma and Lizzie, and jammed into Thelma's Volkswagon with lots of luggage, drive south of the border. At the wedding, Butch gives Sandy the keys to his '57 Cadillac, and suddenly California dreaming becomes a bittersweet reality."
