Film Description:
"This video documents the economic reality of Quebec and the situation of Québécois workers. Using illustrations, archival footage and photographs and texts, Quebec's history of economic independence from France, England and the U.S., is depicted. Following is a description of the paper industry in Mont-Laurier, the asbestos industry in Thetford Mines, which includes in particular images and comments on the strike in 1949, and the Firestone Corporation in Joliette, as seen through the eyes of the workers on strike in 1972."
