The Magnificat -- Film Description:
"Because his music is simultaneously so metrical and so rhythmical, Bach is the composer whose work has been most accessible to modern adaptations. [...] Barbara Sweete's film seizes upon some of the celebrations which took place this year for the Bach tricentenary. Cross-cut with a classically presented performance of The Magnificat by Tafelmusik and the Tudor Singers, is a beautifully modulated jazz version presented by The Swingle Singers, with Bobby McFerrin and Ann Mortifee in dazzling form."
