Le rendez-vous de Sarajevo -- Film Description:
"The civil war in Yugoslavia took its toll on its youth who were often targeted for 'ethnic cleansing'. Two teenagers who escaped the strife were Jelena and Mahir. Although both settled in Quebec, Jelena decides to return to Sarajevo to look at the ruined sites of her youth. There she meets old and new friends who want to rebuild their country. Like the giant photographs, which artist Louis Jammes plastered on walls in war-torn Sarajevo five years ago, these youths want to replace violence through a reborn cultural expression of hope. Those sentiments are sensitively visualized by the film's director, Helen Doyle."
