Film Description: "Shot in Dooney's, a Toronto neighborhood cafe which had been threatened by a Starbucks buy-out, Past/Future contains distant echoes of Manet's A Bar at the Folies-Bergère and Godard's Vivre Sa Vie where happenstance is allowed to coincide with a certain formalism. Friends, food and art swirl around objects representational and real, as Past/Future wanders between the public and the private before veering towards contemplative.
Empty frames full of potential (as past history is for future realization) alert us to the power of perception." -- Barbara Sternberg
