Description du film [en anglais] :
« This film is the portrait of an eighty-eight-year-old woman who lives alone in a log cabin without running water or electricity. Augusta is a non-status Shuswap Indian living in the Williams Lake area of British Columbia. She recalls past times, but lives very much in the present. Self-sufficient, dedicated to her people, she spreads warmth wherever she moves, with her songs, her harmonica and her soft-voiced comments. »

Citation sur Augusta [en anglais]

« The film [Augusta] carefully negotiates the ethical terrain of ethnographic filmmaking, with the image-track attentive to Augusta's physical movements and space, responding to her gestures and words by changing the shot range. And, still radical for an NFB documentary at that time, an eighty-eight-year-old Indian woman provides her own voice-over. »
