Film Description: "Actress and throat singer Lucy Tulugarjuk filmed her directorial debut in Montreal and Igloolik, an island community in Nunavut. Tia and Piujuq tells the story of a 10-year-old Syrian girl whose boredom is shattered when she finds a magic portal. Transported to the Arctic, she meets Piujuq, a little Inuit girl of the same age, who shows her a world of amazing legends. The story, full of wonderment and positivity, is an exceptional collaboration between talented indigenous artists and a young refugee who recently arrived in Quebec. A film whose innocent charm will delight kids and adults alike." -- Québec Cinéma (source) |
