Film Description: "Handle With Care? documents the lives of two women who, in their fight with metastatic breast cancer, have traveled the continent performing a play that dramatizes the needs of women with breast cancer. We follow them on two journeys: one through the complexities of dealing with the disease and its treatments, and the other across [Canada in] their efforts to reach out to women living with breast cancer. The documentary creates awareness and supports advocacy among women living with breast cancer, their families, concerned friends, and health care providers. It challenges audiences to re-think how they see women with breast cancer. The documentary, like the play, asks families, care providers and health care professionals to re-evaluate their relationships with women with metastatic breast cancer. We see the documentary as part of a broader strategy to increase awareness of life issues faced by women with metastatic disease and to support individual, community and institutional change in breast cancer care." -- V tape (source) |
