Visite d'Agostino Neto

Directed by Jean-Pierre Masse and Tahani Rached
Canada, 1974 (documentary, 32 minutes, black and white, French)

Film Description:
"A video documentary which focuses on the struggle for freedom of the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola in the context of Agostino Neto's visit to Canada and Québec in 1974. In this Portuguese colony, Angolans are exploited in coffee plantations. The liberation army's armed struggle has freed one-third of Angola, despite the financial and military backing of Portugal by NATO countries. Canada tacitly supports the suppressive regime by importing Angolan coffee. The second part of the video is devoted to Agostino Neto, in which he calls for continuing the fight against colonialism, imperialism and for Canadian solidarity."
