Film Description:
"This spirited documentary on one of Canada's most successful female politicians was filmed while she was mayor of Ottawa. In her seven years as mayor Marion Dewar was instrumental in the Rideau Centre project, introduced disarmament referendums into municipal politics, was the leading force in raising Canada's quota for Vietnamese refugees, and became known for her social responsibility and common sense. Dewar talks of her political career as a natural extension of her roles of wife, mother, public-health nurse and ordinary citizen, exploring issues of power, peace, leadership styles and women's conflicts about multiple roles."
