Film Description:
"Filmed over a period of 15 years, Bowl of Bone is a unique blend of biography, personal journey and history, weaving together the lives of British Columbia Native herbalist and healer, Annie York, and filmmaker Jan-Marie Martell. The chronological unfolding of their relationship provides the structure for the layering of personal and cultural history in this journey to understand oneself in the light of another person and another culture."

Film Description:
"A syuwe is a Salish healer, astral traveller, herbalist, medicine woman and visionary whose power is the accumulation of secret knowledge that has appeared as a gift through dreams and is passed down within a family.
