Film Description: "The Great Canadian Depression began in 1929. In 29/92, scripted voices from that fargone era remind us of conditions which resonate as a sign of our own times. Homelessness, hunger, despair and anger met empathy, resistance and possibility, as well as repression and violence, during the 1930's. Women play a prominent role in the urban movement of the unemployed. Layers of original footage provide an impressionist glimpse of histories. This is a short, fictional version of the full On to Ottawa video." -- V tape (source) |
