Film Description: "It's Hard to Get It Here documents the lives of three young Native people trying to cope with urban life. Bernice is an unemployed single mother; Mousie is intermittently employed, emotionally tied to the Reserve, but committed to staying with Emma, their son, and her daughters from a previous marriage. Their experiences in Winnipeg fall into the middle range; there are no happy endings, but no unhappy ones either." -- National Film Board of Canada (source) |
