"Inspired by the work of Deirdre Logue and The Snake Pit (1948), NUTS recalls a moment where there is an attempt to silence or dismiss a person's voice. Too often those in power scorn the experiences and beliefs of marginalized people. Their very thoughts can be called into question and they can be accused of 'misunderstanding' or 'exaggerating' a situation. They can be perceived as 'nuts'."
