"Colette has just lost her husband in horrific circumstances. Her daughter, Gabrielle, buries her sorrows in bulimia and twisted sex. And Joseph, a Belgian philosopher specializing in Spinoza, who's in Quebec for a conference, realizes that his humdrum life is weighing on him. The three troubled people will each come to realize that they need to reassess their lives. For her latest film, Micheline Lanctôt takes inspiration from the 'philosopher of joy' as she follows the fates of three characters at a crossroads."
